Improvisation for ActorsDo you want to add a spark to make your performance stand out?
Are you ready when a casting director’s adjustment sends you in an unexpected direction? Can you ad lib when the star you’re playing opposite goes off script? |
Free yourself from self-consciousness and stiffness. Improv exercises open your mind. You grow more flexible and adaptable, spontaneous and creative. Directors and casting directors look for talent with improv experience. They are more active listeners — key to more dynamic and believable performances — with their acting rooted in the present moment.
Blaine Palmer is an actor and improv comic, with scores of roles on stage, television and film.
His training began with and continues to include improvisational theater games, working with members of Living Stage Theatre, The Committee, Second City, The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB). |
For December, a three-session workshop of active improvisational theater games for just $99. Build foundational skill in playing an activity, action, or adjustment.
Develop your ability to focus and rest your mind, silencing the negative critic in your head. Overcome the distractions of intellect and inhibition, and activate your intuition. An exercise class, this is a good fit for absolute beginners as well as actors with years of experience, training and technique. Theater games build trust, teamwork and a collaborative relationship with the audience, and encourage physical expression. This is an ongoing class, with enrollment on a monthly basis. |
